General description |
Overview of Challenge |
||||
5 |
What is the nature of the challenge? (What is not adequately addressed at present?) |
Many frontier regions are home to internationally protected wildlife for some, or all of the year. It is important that we are aware of this so that the impact of our E&P activity on the environment can be minimised. Therefore we must be able to identify any seasonal environmental changes such as the migration patterns of protected species. |
||||

Thematic information requirements |
3. Obtain detailed vegetation information, 4. Obtain detailed land-use information, 6. Identify inland water bodies and determine water quality, 7. Determine air quality, 10. Fauna and presence and patterns, |
||||

Nature of the challenge - What effect does this challenge have on operations? |
Failing to prepare for and manage the influx of protect species to our operational area would be ignoring our responsibility to the environment. Further to this, with regard to the impact on operations, could lead to a forced shut down and increased safe |

8 |
What do you currently do to address this challenge?/ How is this challenge conventionally addressed? |
Ground patrols can be deployed as a deterrent but these are costly and not full-proof. |
||||
9 |
What kind of solution do you envisage could address this challenge? |
|
||||
10 |
What is your view on the capability of technology to meet this need? – are you currently using EO tech? If not, why not? |
