The Urban Atlas is providing pan-European comparable land use and land cover data for Large Urban Zones with more than 100.000 inhabitants as defined by the Urban Audit. The GIS data can be downloaded together with a map for each urban area covered and a report with the metadata.

The Urban Atlas is one of Europe’s "trump cards" in ensuring that the decisions of policy makers are the right ones. Today, the Urban Atlas provides high resolution maps for some 305 Larger Urban Zones across Europe. It is these maps, which provide the details of land use in and around European cities, that underpin European regional funding and policy making. And, with the latest updates to the Urban Atlas, including higher resolution imagery covering almost twice the number of Larger Urban Zones, imminent, the solutions to our cities’ problems are about to get a little easier...
