General Description |
|
What data/products do you use? |
Vegetation data currently collected through shoreline surveys, but satellite imagery has been used to help with broad vegetation classification
|
When do you use this kind of dataset? |
When offshore production transported to shore via pipeline, or operation requires construction of a terminal and has associated shipping with potential of oil spills in nearshore environment
Characterization and vulnerability of coastline and nearshore environment |
What are your actual limitations and do you have a work around? |
EO products have been used in some cases but are expensive. Using EO products for this would still require on-the-ground validation, but if area is extensive, assessment in this way would save time and could easily be repeated on a seasonal basis. |
Needs and expectations on EO data |
High resolution maps that will allow characterization/ classification of coastal vegetation and coastal substrate |
