Weather is an important parameter post closure.  The most important individual parameter will be precipitation as it will directly influence the water balance for the site and is very important with respect to structural stability of tailings dams and waste rock dumps.   Closure plans should be designed and implemented to cater for storm events (up to 1 in 10,000 year events).
